Dr Erickson's talk will cover country craftsmen, the proficient professional Joseph Hamblin who made furniture for some of the early gentry settlers, Western Australian born craftsmen Edwin Foss Duffield, the Chan family, those trained in the convict establishment from 1850-1868, amateur woodcarvers Henry Passmore, Pansy Francis and Henrietta Strickland, professional woodcarver William Howitt and a range of the very popular colonial jarrah furniture sold at auction recently.
